Late Winter Deco, House Updates, and Life Lately

34
It's been a little crazy up in hur lately. Last week, we were in Dallas. Corey got sick, I got sick, and Jon had an insane week of work. The week before, we were living a half-life because our ENTIRE second floor had to be refloated. That meant that EVERYTHING had to be moved downstairs/in the garage in order for the floor folks to do their job. That means we had to pack up everything that was all nicely put away and move it all back again. Fun. Real fun.

I decided that I needed a little pick-me-up with all the crazy going on, so I did some [very minor] decorating. It's kind of a weird season... this little post-Christmas but pre-spring time. I went for a little "natural" theme. I'm ready for March to get here though so I can bust out some bunnies and eggs for Easter!

We got a few new diffusers for the house because ours all bit the dust ironically as all this craziness was going on around us. I'm kind of in love, I'm not gonna lie. These bad boys will diffuse for 6+ hours and the scent is strong the entire time.

With all the work that was done in our house, we had a TON of dust everywhere. I think that definitely contributed to us getting sick. To combat this little issue, I've been diffusing Purify like a crazy person. I can definitely tell a difference. I actually really, really like the smell, too!

Jon and his awesome dad had some time to get a few honey-do's done around the casa. They hung our [yes, we've been in the house for almost 6 months and just now put curtains up] curtains in the master bedroom and the curtain rods in the living room (HOORAY!!!). I'm in love with the long, flowy feel of these curtains. We're going to paint the master bedroom a deep blue at some point, but... first things first.

Jon Boy hung these letters a while back, but they just make me happy every time I see them in the laundry room. Which is basically where I am when I'm not cooking, so... that's a lot of happy!

Ahhh... a clean mud room. [Not pictured - the millions of pieces of dog food our youngest dog, Penny, spills onto the floor EVERY TIME SHE EATS.] I've got a bunch of rag and beach towels in the baskets for quick clean up in the car, garage, or out back.

I'm loving our new couch! The love seat should be in next week. Hallelujah! It's quite an upgrade from the camping chairs we started out with a few months ago.

I finally feel like my little "nook" in our bedroom is complete, too. I get all the bills, blogging, and other household bidness done here on the daily. I'm a huge Van Gogh fan, so I get to stare at his goodness for a little bit every day, too.

Not the tidiest little bathroom counter, but I put this guy up to show the new vanity chair that finally arrived! Putting my make up on while sitting down [it's happened only 3 times so far] is life changing. Life. Changing. People. Very seriously, I feel like I do a MUCH better job when I'm sitting down with the mirror much closer and at a better angle than when I'm standing and leaning over the counter.

How cute is she?

This may not excite you, but it definitely was a game changer for us! We had all these stinkin' bottles all over the shower, so I found a little bamboo shoe rack on Amazon so we could elevate the bottles off the tile floor. We're diggin' it so far! [This is literally the third shower caddy we've tried. #firstworldproblems]

I know one day very soon, my little man won't be so little. I'm just trying to enjoy all these little big-tummied, snuggle-with-mommy moments while I can.

All the feels for this precious boy. He's such a sweet one.

And he really, really loves swim lessons! Too bad his swimsuit [a 2T] is already too small. Somebody send money, please.

And a little humor for all you parents out there... we know why...
