I love putting up Christmas decorations, but I really do love taking them down and starting fresh, too. There's something to be said for that beginning-of-the-year-I'm-going-to-be-so-awesome feeling you get about January 2nd (after NYE has worn off). It took me a while to decide how I wanted to decorate this winter before spring really got here.
I didn't think green was really appropriate yet, since there's really none outside to look at. So, I settled on neutrals and earthy tones.
The tray and decorative ball are both from Target. That dad gum store really has a way of roping you in. I can't get out of there with just what I went in for. It's like a vacuum! I've even tried the old "I'm not even getting a basket! That way I won't buy anything else!" trick and yeah... below are the results...
I love this frame that I found at Target! The printable is from
Etsy, and I'm pretty obsessed with their shop now.
Again, Target for the win with our new throw pillows. I liked that they were almost Aztec-y with a little Southwestern flair. I like the subtle designs and colors that add just enough touch. Plus, they're ridiculously comfortable!
I absolutely love my new wreath! I thought it was perfect for that after Christmas but not really spring time situation we've got going on. I got it at Michael's for a pretty good deal (or so I told my hubby, but that's our secret, right?).
For the foyer I actually kind of recycled some things from Christmas. The deer (from Hobby Lobby) and the antler horn (also the HL) gave me the inspiration to continue with a kind of Southwestern theme. I paired them up with the artwork on the wall (HL again) and another printable from
Etsy.
I love having a foyer and entryway that I can decorate for the different seasons. It's a great thing to look at every day, plus I think it greets our guests with a little warmth when they come in.
Hopefully I'll decorate for spring faster than I decorated for this season. Or, I could just skip over to summer like the Texas weather usually does anyway!
